I am Lee Durant and I’m a Freelance, News Lighting Cameraman and Field Editor based in London. Originally from a stills photography background I now work in broadcast news mainly for the BBC, ITN and Reuters. Commissions in recent years include the London 2012 Olympics (Reuters), Glasgow Commonwealth Games (BBC News), and the 2015 General Election (BBC News).
More recently I have been deployed by the BBC’s Foreign News desk to Mali to cover the attack on the Radisson Blu Hotel and to Paris to cover the BBC Bureau a little while after the Paris Attacks in November. I have just returned from Davos in Switzerland where I worked in the Davos Today Program. Last year I also had a commission from The Whittington Hospital NHS to produce two short films promoting the Benefits of Enhanced Recovery.
I am completely freelance and work independently on a shift basis for most clients. This provides a great level of freedom to cover any story or project that comes along. If you wish to collaborate on a project or have story that needs coverage please get in touch.
As well as this website which is always a work in progress I use twitter as an online CV/ diary of my daily jobs for all of my clients so please follow me and look back at what I’ve been up to.
