Frequently Asked Questions – Wedding Photography

As a bride and groom, planning a wedding along with all the decisions that go with it can be truly daunting. You will have so many things on your mind before and during the day that the last thing you want is to be worrying about what your photographer is up to. Part of the plan going smoothly on the day comes from having the confidence that everyone involved knows what they are doing including you so to that end I have written some Frequently Asked Questions and their Answers to dispel any myths surrounding wedding photography.

If you have any further questions than the ones here then please get in touch and ask away, if they are relevant I will add them here.

Q. How long will it be before I can expect to receive my Photographs?

A. I insist on not giving my couples their wedding photographs straight after the wedding, or even straight after their honeymoon. As a photographer impact and presentation are everything and if you see your photographs soon after the wedding day itself it’s still fresh in your mind and the photo’s will never appear like the day felt. It is important that the first time you see your photo’s they invoke the most vivid of memories, this is best (believe it or not) when the day is a little bit forgotten…

There is another reason why I insist on a bride and groom waiting and that is simply to get the best results from the final edit. I often take a gargantuan amount of photographs and initial selection of the images to be edited can sometimes take a day on its own. Individual images can take anywhere from ten minutes to up to a couple of hours to edit in photoshop, all this may give you an idea of the editing work involved. If this work is rushed and your photographer is under pressure to produce your final pictures quickly you will not get the best results.

I will prepare you early and tell you that there will be a 12-16 week wait for your finished photographs.
